"The Role of MillennialYouth in Preserving Indonesian Cultural Heritage in the 21stCentury”

The respectable teachers and parents,
The honorable audiences,
My dear friends, ladies andgentlemen,
Assalamu’alaikumWr. Wb.
Firstof all, let us say thanks to Allah, The Almighty, who has been giving usblessing and guidance, so that we can gather in this great place. Salawatand salam may peace be upon The Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW.
Myfriends, ladies and gentlemen,
Itis a great opportunity for me to stand and deliver a speech in front of youall. In this good occasion, I am here going to deliver a speech on “The Role ofMillennial Youth in Preserving Indonesian Cultural Heritage in the 21stCentury”
Myfriends, ladies and gentlemen,
Ourcountry, Indonesia, is the largest island country in the world, with more thanseventeen islands. It also consists of hundreds of tribes or ethnic groupswhich are spread from Sabang to Merauke, from Miangas to Rote Island. With thismany tribes or ethnicities, Indonesia has a lot of cultural heritage that comefrom local wisdoms and values that grow and develop in every region inIndonesia. They could become our country’s wealth.
Myfriends, ladies and gentlemen,
Withthe developing of science and technology in the 21st century, ourculture is vulnerable to influences from other nations that are not necessarilycompatible with our culture. These foreign cultural values can easily beconsumed by our nation, especially by children through the internet. As we knowthat today internet has become our nation's daily consumption.
Now,the question is, how can the negative impact of the development of science andtechnology be minimized, or even eliminated? The answer is in the hands of youth.
Myfriends, ladies and gentlemen,
Ir.Soekarno, our first president, once said "Give me 10 youth, then I willshake the world". This shows us that the role of youth is so important. Inthis case, youth can be the front guard in maintaining and keeping our culturalheritage. With all their talents and creativity, youth can enrich the culturewe have.
Myfriends, ladies and gentlemen,
Therefore,the main thing should be done is youth should be educated well with goodcharacters. So that they can filter anything they will do. Besides, they willfill their life with positive things. Finally, they will do their best forkeeping the existence of our cultural heritage.
Myfriends, ladies and gentlemen,
